Spam Sources: How to Avoid Them

-

Too tired of deleting “junk mails” in your email box? Junk emails and spam are becoming a great and aggravating problem in the World Wide Web or the Internet. Some people may become so awfully annoyed with the dozens and tons of unsolicited commercial emails or spam that they are forced to change email addresses from time to time.
Spam are those mails flooding your email box with several copies of the same message. So it is like a chain letter where the source needs to send the letters, with the same message, that is, to a certain number of people to get his or her much-desired wish. Spamming is actually a scheme being used by several spam sources to impose their message to individuals who would not opt to receive it given the choice. Who are the usual spam sources? These are probably, but not limited to business-related infomercials, often for fraudulent products, and those scheming get-rich-quick ideas, or other sham services. There is no likely cost for sending spam; the cost actually is not shouldered by the spam sources but usually the recipient or the carriers of the spam.
You may wonder where on earth do these spam sources get your email address?
Researches on spam sources found out that email addresses posted on websites or in newsgroups most attracts spammers. Spammers or spam sources use a software program that can gather and record all email addresses listed on websites and all who posts to public newsgroups.
At present there is no easy way to prevent spam or junk mails. But there are some tips to avoid being tracked by spam sources.
Your first defense against spam sources, change or disguise email addresses posted in a public electronic place. It is rather ideal not to sign out any online member directories. This is like giving them your go signal to distribute your email address to spam sources.
The numbers of spam sources are ballooning everyday. So be extra conscientious when you encounter online forms that requires you to disclose your email address. In particular, pay attention to any options discussing how the address will be used. Be cautious when ticking boxes which could allow them to send you emails or share your e-mail address others.
Have several email addresses for specific purposes. This perhaps may be the best way to avoid spam sources. Instead of using a single email address in all your all transactions, use disposable email addresses which may allow you to immediately cancel the address if spam sources were able to track it. Take note that many web sites offer free email accounts and this gives you the freedom to designed one-time use of emails.
Finally, to cut down the numbers of spam sources, use spam sources filters. With the mushrooming of web hosts offering free email services, these also come in handy with a reliable spam sources filtering. Although they may not totally guard you against spam sources, but surely they can get rid of several spammers and spam sources tremendously.

Best Anti Spam Software – Spam Bully Review

-

Many people today are using electronic mails (e-mails) to send and receive messages with others as it is the fastest way possible. With businesses getting their hands involved in the internet and most specifically, e-mail, our e-mails tend to receive lots of spam messages advertising everything from discount electronics to male enhancement products.

Its purpose is to get you attracted to anything they sell. It is prohibited under the Can Spam Act and is an abuse of electronic messaging systems to indiscriminately send unsolicited bulk messages currently known as spam and its most widely known form is the e-mail spam.

Spamming cost your e-mail accounts memory space that can make you unable to receive new e-mails, due to lack of memory space. It has become a major problem for internet users.

Email and internet service providers also encounter problems and the solution that they come up of is to increase the memory space allotted for users’ e-mail so that spam will not occupy that much space. Some providers do provide web based anti spam services however, it is unable to completely eradicate the email spamming problem.

There are many anti spam software on the market that provides the ability to stop spam before it reaches your inbox. One of these is Spam Bully, one of the best anti spam software I have used.

Spam Bully is suited for new internet users who want to stop spam and phishing emails from reaching their email inbox without the technical difficulties of setting up. It is easy to use and works well to block 99% of all spam emails. The default automatic spam rules setup is pretty efficient and works well right out of the box.

Spam Bully anti spam software has an update feature that regularly updates it’s anti spam engine without user intervention. Currently, it works with any POP3 account such as outlook, fedora, mozilla and netscape. It also works with any webbased email clients such as hotmail, yahoo Mail.

E-learning Standards Body Says Sumtotal Officially Certifies Against New Guidelines

-

According to the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative, SumTotal® Systems’ newly released learning management system – TotalLMS™ 7.5 – conforms to the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM®) Version 2004 3rd Edition, an e-learning standards initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense. SumTotal (NASDAQ: SUMT) makes software that not only delivers and manages training over the Internet but also automates employee performance appraisals. According to the ADL Initiative, SCORM is a set of specifications that enable interoperability of Web-based learning content.

“Simply put, customers want the online courses that they buy or build to run as expected on a learning management platform,” said Jon Ciampi, SumTotal’s vice president of marketing. “We believe embracing the SCORM 2004 standard and receiving ADL’s certification is a critical step in meeting the marketplace’s expectations.”

The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense established the ADL as a forum for cooperative research and development of new learning technology prototypes, guidelines and specifications. The ADL Initiative released its 3rd edition of SCORM Version 2004 on October 20, 2006.

This fall, SumTotal completed a series of self-tests against the 3rd edition of SCORM 2004. SumTotal submitted the results to the ADL, which independently validated TotalLMS 7.5 against a conformance test suite and subsequently filed the test results on the ADL’s Web site at www.adlnet.org. The ADL now recognizes TotalLMS 7.5 as a certified product under the SCORM 2004 3rd Edition.

“We applaud SumTotal’s commitment to conforming to the ADL Initiative’s elearning standards,” said Paul Jesukiewicz, deputy director of the ADL Initiative. “We’re pleased to see SumTotal, which was one of the early adopters among many providers of learning management systems, to officially certify with our 3rd edition of SCORM Version 2004.

“SumTotal’s actions not only advance the cause of implementing standards across the elearning industry,” added Jesukiewicz, “but also give public- and private-sector customers a way to validate vendors’ claims of interoperability between elearning content and learning management systems.”

GGN- Internet Censorship Alert! Alex Jones Exposes Agenda to ‘blacklist’ Dissenting Sites Part 2/2

-

domain blacklisthttp://www.infowars.com/internet-censorship-alert-alex-jones-exposes-agenda-to-shut-down-the-web/
The Western world, from Australia to the United States, UK and parts of Europe, are moving in a unified front toward dictatorial Internet censorship. Australia has led the way, despite outcry from its populace, by filtering out certain banned content. In the United States, Sen. Jay Rockefeller, in continuing his familys tradition of oppressing free humanity, has pushed forward Cybersecurity legislation that has already passed the House. He has done so in the name of warding off ghastly cyber attackers conceivably fronting for al Qaeda while ushering in a means to restrict free speech and expression online for the general population.

With Obamas support, most of the developed world has accepted plans for government-approved online activity and Pentagon-monitored internet traffic. The U.S. and UK are facilitating the hijacking of what has, until now, been a highly-democratic Internet. Overall, it has been a technological God-send for bringing together communication and strongly expressing thought outside of the mainstream information available on television and in print. Now, people are being forced onto the corporate-dominated Internet2 once again, in the name of security. (Internet) Freedom sacrificed at the same false alter of (Internet) Security. Independent blogs, news sites and online businesses will all be financially disadvantaged by access fees not demanded of dominant entities. What is today outside the norm but well within free speech will tomorrow be evaluated by politically-correct criteria that will be used to identify sites to block and users to deny access. Currently, a campaign is underway to convince the public to accept drivers licenses for the once-free Internet.

Already, government blacklists have been exposed. On its lists? The usual suspects Infowars.com, PrisonPlanet.com, Wikileaks.org and the like. Referrals to sites like Infowars.com and PrisonPlanet.com are being denied not only in Australia, but in places like New Zealand who have not adopted the same policies, but do share ISPs who have ordered a block. All across the world, wherever internet filtering and outright censorship has been phased in via libraries, businesses, airports, and so forth, sites that are critical of government are consistently blocked first. This has been true not only of Alex Jones several websites, but also of sites like Wikileaks, Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), Cryptome and etc, etc. The common theme is not operating outside of law or of speaking in extremities, but challenging the power establishment through distribution of information and/or shedding light on its otherwise little known unscrupulous activities.

This Orwellian scheme has already been branded by the outrages of Cass Sunstein, one of the Obama Czars, who has called for governments to ban conspiratorial theories and identified thought-crimes including a disbelief in man-made global warming and a belief in the basic goodness of sunshine. In considering how to eradicate outlawed beliefs, Sunstein posits the benefits of using bloggers to engage and counter disinformation. A very similar version of this strategy has already been adopted by the Pentagon in its infowars campaign.

Alex uses his most-recent experience in an outright ban to sound a warning that the enemy is already among us. Internet censorship threatens to stifle out a recent phenomenon of free thought and widespread information that has flourished on the Internet / world wide web. Only by standing up to undue constraints on our rights and by saying no to efforts to chill speech on the web can we save a stronghold of free humanity.
